Online shop guide 2026
E-commerce website price in Bangladesh, with bKash payments
Moving your shop from Facebook to your own website? This guide sets out the e-commerce website price in Bangladesh in 2026, what a shop needs and how bKash payments work for a merchant. The market prices come from companies’ own published pages, checked in November 2026.
We are AristoBuild, a web design studio in Chittagong (Chattogram). We build a free sample of your shop first, and you pay only if you love it.
E-commerce website price in Bangladesh: what the market charges
“Online shop” can mean a template with ten products or a custom system with stock, courier and payment links, so the e-commerce website development cost in Bangladesh varies a lot. These are starting prices Bangladeshi companies publish on their own sites, checked on 3 November 2026.
| Kind of shop | Published starting prices | What you usually get |
|---|---|---|
| Template shop from a hosting company | ৳6,400 to ৳18,500 | A ready-made design filled with your products |
| Agency-built shop | ৳25,000 to ৳50,000 | Cart and checkout, often on WordPress with WooCommerce (a shop add-on). Some include bKash and Nagad. |
| Custom-built shop | ৳90,000 to ৳1,50,000 and up | Built around how you sell, with its own admin panel. One Chittagong studio’s guide puts e-commerce at ৳1,00,000 to ৳3,50,000 and up. |
What moves the e-commerce website cost in Bangladesh
Four questions explain most of the gap between quotes. Is the design a template or made for you? Who enters the products? Do you get an admin panel and automatic payment? What is bundled (domain, hosting, support) and for how long?
Agencies commonly quote two to eight weeks to build a shop, and big custom shops take months. For other kinds of site, read our guide to website design prices in Bangladesh (also বাংলায়).
What an online shop needs
Whatever you pay, ask which of these parts are in the price.
- Product catalogue: clear photos, price, sizes, colours and stock for every product, so nobody has to ask.
- Cart or order button: the buyer leaves a name, phone and address, or one tap sends the order to your WhatsApp.
- Order alerts: each order reaches you at once by SMS, email or WhatsApp.
- Delivery charges: one charge inside your city and one outside, with delivery days, shown before the buyer orders.
- Cash on delivery: the buyer pays the courier on arrival. Keep it even after you add online payment, so buyers who do not know your shop yet can still order.
- Online payment: bKash, Nagad and cards, sent by hand with a transaction ID or confirmed automatically by a payment gateway.
- Admin panel: a private page where you add products, change prices, see orders and keep stock right.
- Policy pages: terms, a return and refund policy, a privacy policy and your business address. SSLCommerz lists these as rules for approval.
Three honest paths for a growing shop
You do not have to jump from a Facebook page to a full shop in one step.
1. A Facebook page only
Free to start, and the right place to test whether people want your products. As orders grow, products sink down the feed, buyers keep asking the price in the inbox and your shop is hard to find on Google.
2. A catalogue website with WhatsApp orders and cash on delivery
Your full range sits on your own web address, and your Facebook posts link to it. A buyer taps Order and the order lands on your WhatsApp. You confirm, book the courier and collect the cash. For an advance, such as the delivery charge, the buyer sends it by bKash and shares the transaction ID. There is no gateway, so there is no gateway paperwork. For many f-commerce sellers (shops that sell through Facebook), this is the natural next step.
3. A full shop with automatic online payment
The buyer pays by bKash, Nagad or card at checkout, and the site marks the order paid by itself, even at night. It needs a payment gateway, which needs a trade licence and takes a share of each sale. It pays off when checking payments by hand starts eating your day.
| Path | How buyers pay | Papers needed | Running cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Facebook page only | Cash on delivery or bKash sent by hand | None | Your time, plus any ads you run |
| Catalogue site with WhatsApp orders | Cash on delivery or bKash sent by hand | None for payments | Domain and hosting, roughly ৳3,000 to ৳6,000 a year |
| Full shop with a payment gateway | bKash, Nagad and cards, confirmed automatically, plus cash on delivery | Trade licence, TIN, NID and a bank account; a DBID for some gateways | Domain and hosting, plus about 2% to 2.75% of each online sale |

bKash payment gateway integration: how it works for a merchant
A payment gateway takes the buyer’s money on your website and tells your site at once that the order is paid. There are two routes. With bKash’s own merchant gateway, the buyer enters their bKash number, an SMS code and their PIN on a bKash page. With a gateway company such as SSLCommerz, aamarPay, shurjoPay or PortPos, you get bKash, Nagad and cards through one account.
The steps to add bKash payment to a website
- Get your papers ready (table below). Most gateways will not start without a trade licence.
- Apply. bKash’s online business form asks for your NID, trade licence number and expiry date, bank account and website or Facebook link.
- Put your shop live. Gateways review the site first. SSLCommerz wants a live site, not a demo, with your policies and address in place.
- Sign the agreement, which sets your fee per sale.
- Connect. Your developer tests on bKash’s sandbox (a test system open to anyone), then gets live keys once you are approved. Ask for bKash’s current Tokenized checkout, since the older iFrame checkout is being phased out.
Papers each provider asks for
| Provider | What it asks for |
|---|---|
| bKash Payment Gateway | NID, a valid trade licence, a bank account and your website or Facebook page link |
| Nagad merchant | NID, a valid trade licence and a bank account |
| SSLCommerz | Trade licence, TIN certificate, NID and photo, a company bank account with a cheque leaf and a DBID |
| aamarPay | Trade licence, TIN, NID, a photo and a VAT certificate if you have one |
| shurjoPay | Trade licence, TIN or VAT certificate, NID, a separate business bank account and an agreement on ৳300 stamp paper |
| PortPos | Trade licence, eBIN, eTIN, NID and a DBID |
A TIN is your tax number, and eBIN and eTIN are the online VAT and tax registrations. A DBID is a Digital Business ID for online businesses, from dbid.gov.bd.
Published fees, setup costs and payouts
| Provider | Fee per sale | Setup and monthly fees | Payouts |
|---|---|---|---|
| bKash Payment Gateway | Not published: ask bKash | Not published | Not published |
| SSLCommerz | 2.5% for cards, bKash, Nagad, Rocket and more; 3.5% for AMEX | ৳25,500 once, not refundable | Not stated |
| aamarPay | SME plan: 2.00% bKash and Nagad, 2.55% cards. Easy Trx plan: 2.20% and 2.75% | Setup fee on request; no monthly fee | Twice a week, on working days |
| PortPos | 2.20% bKash, Nagad and net banking; 2.50% cards; 3.50% AMEX; international cards 1% more. Also lists ৳1 per successful sale | No signup fee, no monthly fee | By bank transfer; timing not stated |
| shurjoPay | Not published: they send a quote | Not published | Once a week, on a day you choose |
| Nagad (direct) | Not published | Not published | Not published |
Plain maths: on a ৳1,000 order, a 2.5% fee is ৳25 and a 2.00% fee is ৳20. On ৳1,00,000 of online sales in a month, 2.5% comes to ৳2,500. Cash on delivery orders pay no gateway fee.
Fees are from each company’s own pages, checked on 3 November 2026: SSLCommerz, aamarPay, PortPos and shurjoPay. Most do not say whether VAT is added, so ask.
What bKash does not publish
bKash does not publish its payment gateway fee online, so ask bKash for it. We also found no bKash page that says how long approval takes or how soon your money reaches your bank. Blogs quote figures, but they disagree and none point to a bKash source. Treat any bKash fee you read as a guess until it is written in your own agreement.
No trade licence yet? The bKash Personal Retail Account
bKash calls its Personal Retail Account “a new type of business account” for small retail and f-commerce sellers. These details are from a copy of that page saved on 5 September 2026, so check the live page before you open one.
- You need: your NID and a new SIM registered to it that has never had a bKash account, plus proof the SIM is yours. No trade licence.
- Fees: receiving payments from buyers is free, a promotional offer “until further notice”. Sending money to a buyer, such as a refund, costs ৳5. Moving money to a bank is listed at 1.3%, for a later phase.
- Limits: ৳30,000 per payment, ৳30,000 a day and ৳5,00,000 a month, with a balance of up to ৳5,00,000.
- Catches: your existing personal bKash number cannot be converted, and an NID already used for a bKash agent or merchant account cannot open one.
- How buyers pay: by scanning your QR code, through the bKash Payment Gateway or by typing your number in the bKash menu.
bKash does not say how a website connects to this account, so plan on a manual step: the buyer pays your number and sends the transaction ID, and you check it before sending the parcel. A personal bKash number is not a business service and cannot connect to a checkout. Once you have a trade licence, move up to a merchant account.
Running costs of an online shop
Building the shop is paid once. These costs come back every year, at prices published in November 2026.
| Cost | What to budget |
|---|---|
| .com domain | About ৳1,200 to ৳2,100 the first year, then ৳1,650 to ৳2,100 a year |
| .com.bd domain from BTCL | ৳1,100 to register and ৳1,600 a year to renew, plus VAT. BTCL’s rate card shows ৳700 and ৳1,020 for a limited time. |
| Hosting | About ৳1,800 to ৳3,600 a year for a basic plan at renewal prices. A shop with many photos may need a bigger plan, about ৳5,000 to ৳7,000 a year. |
| SSL padlock (https) | Free with every Bangladeshi host we checked |
| Payment gateway | About 2% to 2.75% of each online sale. Setup is free at PortPos and ৳25,500 once at SSLCommerz. |
| Maintenance | Published plans start at about ৳2,000 to ৳3,000 a month. One Dhaka agency’s plan for shops starts at ৳5,000 a month. |
So a small shop’s basic running cost is roughly ৳3,000 to ৳6,000 a year for domain and hosting, plus the gateway’s share of online sales and any maintenance plan. Watch for hosting that is cheap in the first year and renews at two or more times the price. Our Care plan is ৳4,999 a month and covers hosting, security, backups, updates and small content changes.

Questions people ask
What is the online shop website price in BD?
Published starting prices for an online shop in Bangladesh mostly sit between ৳25,000 and ৳50,000 (checked November 2026). Template shops start at about ৳6,400 and custom-built shops at about ৳90,000. Our Business site, which takes orders through the site or WhatsApp with cash on delivery, is from ৳29,999.
Is bKash included in the price of an e-commerce website?
It depends on the builder, so ask before you agree: some agencies include bKash and Nagad in their shop packages and others charge for the payment work separately. At AristoBuild, automatic bKash checkout is Custom development, quoted clearly before we start. Either way, the fee bKash takes on each sale is separate.
How much is the bKash payment gateway charge? Is it free?
bKash does not publish its gateway fee online, so ask bKash: the rate is set in your merchant agreement. Gateway companies that publish their fees charge about 2% to 2.75% per sale. Receiving payments into a bKash Personal Retail Account is free for now, as a promotional offer.
What do I need to open a bKash merchant account?
bKash’s sign-up form for online businesses asks for your NID, a valid trade licence with its number and expiry date, a bank account and a link to your website or Facebook page. Gateway companies such as SSLCommerz also ask for a TIN certificate and a DBID.
Can I take bKash payments without a trade licence?
Yes, with a bKash Personal Retail Account, which needs your NID and a new SIM instead of a trade licence. Receiving payments is free for now, up to ৳30,000 a day and ৳5,00,000 a month. bKash does not say how it connects to a website, so plan on buyers sending you the transaction ID.
How long does bKash approval take?
We could not find an approval time on bKash’s website, so ask when you apply. Send the form as soon as your trade licence and bank account are ready, and sell with cash on delivery in the meantime so the wait costs you no orders.
Can I add products and change prices myself?
Yes, if your shop has an admin panel: you log in, add products, change prices and mark items out of stock. At AristoBuild, an admin panel to run the shop yourself is part of Custom development. On a Business site, our Care plan covers small content changes.
Can I see a demo of my shop before I pay?
Yes. We build a free sample of your shop and send a live link on its own web address, such as yourshop.aristobuild.com, usually within a few days. You pay only if you love it, with no deposit and no risk.
